Balls popping into view in a Bucket

Hello and thanks for your time,

Just trying to figure out an animation.
I am trying to get a ball or a marbles graphic appear inside a bucket graphic, so that the balls appear one at time and accumulate inside the bucket to the point where the balls are just stacked ontop of each other in a large pile within the bucket. Evenutally I would have a sound effect of a "pop" for everytime a ball appears.

I imagine I could manually place a ball inside the bucket at each keyframe and animate like that but I guess I'm looking for a better technique. Mabye ASing? thanks in advance.
