    Arcade Fire...I just don't get it

    So, just finished watching the Grammys. I always have to wonder when I feel such a disconnect with a musical act that obviously has such an incredible level of popularity. I really don't get this band Arcade Fire one bit. To me, they sound like an amateurishly bad high school garage band and maybe that's what their attraction stems from. I'm obviously in the minority, but...like I said...very confused.

    It's pretty much the one time each year I get my exposure to all areas of pop music.

    Let me clarify - this thread is in reference to the band, not the Grammys.

    if i had to choose between a garage band, and 90% of what the grammys are all about, i'll take the garage band.

    I mean i listen to ****ing NPR now more then pop stations. you cant go 15 minutes without hearing something by kesha, lady gaga, katy perry.

    I listen to the radio for 10-15 min every morning on the way to work- that's it. So I've never even heard this band before. Just listened to the first result on youtube. Not the worst thing I've ever heard and I would definitely rather hear that then anything by what silver listed- but that's about everything over all that crap.

    Just listened. Yeah. I guess there is a niche for that type of thing.

    It just seems like that type of music has taken over what people consider to be rock. When did rock become wimpy?

    It seems to me like they've been "inspired" by acts like Polyphonic Spree or Flaming Lips...but just without the musical talent to go along with the chaotic sideshow stage act.

    @wimpy rock...I couldn't agree more.
