    Flash CS 5.5 IDE

Hello, I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place, but this seemed the most logical sub-forum. Anyway, I'm sure many of you have noticed that if you're editing ActionScript and switch to another window (Alt+Tab) and switch back to Flash, the Actions panel no longer has focus. I didn't think it'd be that frustrating, initially, but holy hell is it becoming obnoxious! I've searched high and low for a solution to no avail. I don't know a lot about computer programming, but I've noticed when editing an .as file, this problem does not arise, probably because there's simply no other panel that can receive focus. This suggests to me that when working in an .fla file, something is being told to receive focus upon Flash receiving focus. It's clearly not an editable preference from within the IDE, but any of you geniuses out there know if the registry can be modified in some way to remedy this? Working on a laptop without an auxiliary mouse has pushed me to learning/relying on keyboard shortcuts, and this is literally the only thing I can't seem to do from the keyboard (save for pressing F9 twice, which is a nuisance all its own). Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Dock the window instead of leaving it as a floating panel or pin the script panel so it's always on top.

Hey Tim, I never have the Actions panel floating. I've tried docking on the right with the properties, etc; on the left with (for me) the tools, the top with the timeline, and the bottom with the output...no dice. I've currently resorted to making it a habit of pressing F9 twice every time I switch back to Flash, but it'd be nice to be able to avoid it. Thanks for trying to help though, I appreciate the quick response.

This is a problem with all versions of Flash IDE: When you switch to another window and return to Flash, the Actionscript panel is never focused. I'm too finding a solution to this in Flash IDE. I'm using CS5 by the way. I'm surprised that Adobe doesn't think this as a frustration for Flash users.

The possible solutions to this frustration is:
    1. Adopt another monitor for other windows. Dual monitors
    2. Edit your code in a different program eg: FlashDevelop and copy the code back to Flash IDE once you're happy with it.
    3. Learn to code in Actionscript classes and ditch the in-FLA coding once and for all.
