Cow Icon Lailoma, an RPG 4 years in the making!

    Hey guys,

I’ve been working on Lailoma for 4 years now and it’s finally complete!

This game combines old school rpg fighting, exploring and platform-type gameplay with an awesome story and loads of mini-games.

    Hope you enjoy!

    Play it at:

Very ambitious game. It reminds me of the Sinjid games.

The fight animation is nice but with the artwork being so rough, that wears off after a little while. Spend some time to make a better walk animation, it doesn't really look like walking. Make an animation for jumping as well. Why does the character have such an angry expression when all he likes to do is party?

It's good to have the variety of the platforming stages but the control could be better and jumping from platform to platform gets old quick. I've played dozens of platformers in my life so there should at least be something defining about the gameplay of it. But I only played the first stage so maybe there's more to it later on.

The battles have many different screens and the layout is cluttered and confusing. You should really look at other RPGs that you like and try to learn from them. Text should be properly aligned and spaced out. The borders that you have are distracting, the color schemes are seemingly random and unappealing.

I don't mean to completely diss your work since it seems very technically competent. Lots of work definitely went into it. I just feel that the presentation could use a ton of polish and can be a huge detractor and prevent people from giving it a chance.

The game shows a lot of promise and look forward to your next games. It would probably be better to focus on making something smaller now that you have the knowhow and put more attention and detail into to each part of the game. Making a huge RPG like this is a lot of work!
