    Bob,

I checked out that code, and though that isn't right, that is not the problem..

check this page I am using for testing....

    http://www.fwhilton.com/frank.htm

It doen't have that code (as above)

I can't figure it out. This test page has the swf in a table and not in a table.

    Thanks

    Well......

I went to Macromedia to check and see what is to do with NAV 6 and Flash's compatability....

This is what I found on their site...

    "ATTENTION NETSCAPE 6 USERS:
Shockwave Player does not currently function satisfactorily in Netscape 6. Macromedia and Netscape are actively working to resolve the outstandingissues. As an alternative, Macromedia recommends use of an earlierversion of the Netscape browser."

I was trying to dowload the Netscape plugin for NAV6 and got this.

oh... did I say that is why I don't like NAV

Netscape 6 overhauled all of their code so that it would conform to the W3C recomendations. Pretty much if it works in NS 6 you can be assured that it will work in any other web browser.

The problem is Microsoft implements its own code that is diffrent from the rest of the worlds.

    Johnnie...

Do have any ideas on using Swf files in tables using W3C Nav code?

They don't seem to work for me.

    Thanks

Don't use Tables- I suggest placing the SWF into Divs and then controling the Divs (Both IE 3.0 and NS 3.0 can handle CSS and Divs). IMS Web Dwarf (A freeware web editor that I recommend BTW) places all of your Images, Text, SWF's, ETC into Divs and then allows you to place those Divs wherever you want.

    The link is here http://www.virtualmechanics.com/IMSDwarf.htm

also if you want to use a web editor that can do DHTML I recomend Dream Weaver ($299), Platypus Web Editor ($99), or IMS Web Engine ($99) over Front Page 2000($119).

I recomend that you use one of the many freeware web editors (WYSWIG Like Amayou, Web Dwarf, NS Composer- not thrilled about this one but writes cleaner code than FP Express, or Non WYSWIG like Notepad, EMacs, Reactor- I highly recommend this one, ETC ETC) instead of paying for a web editor if you do not wish to do any DHTML and or intelligble code is a high priority (If intelligble code is your #1 priority Hand code the page using a Non-Wysiwig web editor).

    Also on Web editors....

    http://www.svgmagic.com/demos/svgmagic/svghome.html

IMS Web Engine Version 2 Beta is the first web authoring tool that fully incorperates SVG... You will need a SVG Plug-IN to view that page. Adobe has a plug-IN.

On another note Amayou (available from http://www.w3c.org ) is the first Browser/ Editor with limited SVG support. You can both view and write static SVG with amayou.
