Open doc and pdf files on web and mac/pc projectors

I've got a project that needs to open .doc and .pdf files and will be delivered via web and cross-platform CD and am trying to figure out the best way to open the files.

It's been a while since I've done something like this (using getURL for the web version and proxy and bat files for the pc...never have done it for mac also), so I was wondering if a better way exists to do this now.
Anyone? Northcode?

Hmm...so, I'm guessing nothing new?

Alright, I've got the getURL working for the web side and the proxy.exe and .bat files set up for the PC side. Now, since I'm working on a PC, I've got .txt files (34 of them) for all the applescript files that I need, but no way to create the .app files.
Anyone have any ideas on that??
