Stand on a street corner in the rain for about an hour. Let the rush-hour traffic bathe you with the fresh runoff. I am certain your Ugly American dialect will come back to you in a...splash.

    heh,
yeah, I'd sure like to give that cabbie the other day a few choice words...

by the way, it's the Spanish that is slacking, not the english...although, I still have dreams in spanish where I can't remember english...weird...

    Athlon, Mike,

Japanese isn't too easy to learn. I had a pretty good teacher, but she was extremely difficult. I have studied it for about 3 years. If you would like to know some words in english that you have seen in Japanese, just let me know and I will do my best to translate them.

I'm perfectly fluent in both English and French. I learned both languages as I grew up (also doesn't hurt to be in a billingual province )

I also know a bit of German and Japanese. Looking especially forward to starting Japanese language courses next year.

I am Scottish but live & work in Germany. My German is very good but not yet fluent. One of the nice things about German is that so many other languages are derived from it e.g. Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and as a very distant relative... English itself. I'd like to learn Spanish as a few languages are derived from that and I'd like to learn Italian & Persian just for the hell of it.

    cdogg,
Rome's cool, spent only a short time there though, now i'm in Milan. Different story!
Italy is marvellous. I'm considering staying here.
I love the UK but the weather is **** and everything costs at least a third more than the rest of europe!
Cant get crappy English food here though - that i go home for. Bacon sandwiches dont exist! Tragedy.
