First type the text on the stage. Then create a cricle. With the circle still selected choose twirl from the Distortion dialog. Under the layer tab, choose background for where it reads: Fill with. Create another circle the same size. Then Align the centers of the circle and the lens making sure the second circle is on top. With the top circle selcted, go to the opacity tab and choose radial. Next, group the circle and the lens. You will now have a Group of 2 objects on the timeline. Twirl down the transform properties triangle on the timeline. Then animate the Group over the text. That's it. Instant twirly lens. Experiment with different Distortion effects. You can get some really cool effects.
