I Hate My Job Because ...

I hate my job because it took me quite a while to grow into it and find out I liked it and I was just given a 2 week notice. In 2 weeks I won't be needed anymore. This morning the newspaper was here to do a story on our department and what all we were doing, and I got my picture taken. This afternoon they told us the department would be closed in 2 weeks.

Makes me feel like I was nothing more than a sick PR stunt.

I hate my job because my idiot boss won't pay for the images he took off of Corbis/photodisc/etc.. He had me use the watermarked images for now, so I get to redo everything when we do get the images. But some of them--the one's HE picked and is too fond of to choose any other ones--don't exist in the royalty-free collection. You can either pay $3 if you use them on a personal basis (emails, personal homepages, etc.) or you pay $600 every 3 months to license them professionally. He's wanting me to use MY corbis account to buy them at $3 apiece and plans on arguing that they are for personal use because he owns the company and it's his company's website--therefore his website.

I hate my job because my idiot boss is playing creative manager, but doesn't know d!ck about it. He's got it all backwards, he gave me 4 hours to come up with a design, and 4 weeks to make an HTML template of it. He's been promising for four weeks now to get me content to put on the page, but there still isn't any. He yells at me because the SWF file is so big, yet he insists on using big images to navigate with--over 30 of them! He yells at me when he couldn't read the tiny subtitles in a 6-minute video because it was compressed enough to be streamed over a 33.6 modem. (this started out as a 260MB AVI file) But I can see movies much better than that at home, he says (with his DSL modem!) Why can't you make it that good?

I hate my job because the work sucks, the environment sucks, the boss sucks, the pay sucks, and I'm all by myself. I'm in a loud noisy cold room and I'm all by myself because no one else knows anything about what I do, although EVERYONE else somehow feels they have the expertise to tell me what I should be doing!

Stay in school. Stay as long as you can. You don't want to be in the real world!

Just kidding, although there is something to be said for college life. Of course, there's also something to be said for a regular pay check!
