Time is not a concept, hourly time is, however, Time is really the perception of change, from on situation to another.

Thats why you have long days and short days, time hasn't changed you have.

Time is on of the few constants of the universe, if we weren't here so see it pass it would still be there constantly changing, how else would the planets/galaxies revolve, starlight pass across the infinite space.

Dig what you say man but I had to put my 2p in.

    See ya

go on, but first answer this:
since the color of objects is only a reflected wavelength, and our world we see is only 'simulated by our brains', then how can we feel the simulation? our touch doesnt rely on wavelengths or light, it relies on colliding atoms and pressure, so how can pressure be simulated?

When I was talking about everything being simulated in our minds, I mean
that the energy ;the object; is deferentially present, such as the keys on my keyboard.
But the key itself is made of atoms and you Know that atoms have neutrons and electrons,
and that a keyboard key has more than one atom making its structure,
(please note that no naked eye has seen an atom! Only Machines revile their shape and structure).

Atoms make molecules and molecules make objects. When you look at the surface of the key you press on the keyboard with an
Electroscope. We would see a rippling sea of energy, atoms freely moving across its surface!
(nothing is solid nothing is permanent everything is changing.)
Don’t forget we don’t see with the eye this happening but with the machines we build, like radar we get a simulation of the energy we detect.

The sound we hear from the key as we press comes from the vibration of the surface, this in turn excites the molecules of air surrounding the key. These air molecules in turn
Pass this vibration (oscillation) to the next air molecule and so on until it hits or oscillates your ear drum.
The ear has fine microscopic hair like structures which oscillate at the oscillations that they receive, converting the oscillations in to electric signals for our minds to convert into our reality.

In truth and short we live on a living sea of energy, this energy comes in many wavelengths (oscillations) colour, sound, temperature, density, existence.

You Know we can only see within a small band of wave lengths, but there are many more.

    Crazybonkers is deeper than deeper….

people avoid the darker side of life, we struggle towards the light (as wilde said, i may be lying in the gutter but i'm looking at the stars) and deprive ourselves of half of life's experiences and, hence, half of life's lessons.

here's factual piece of information that fell onto my desk today -

"you can get your exact hat size by measuring the circumference of your head, divide that by pi and round off to the nearest 1/8" (3mm)"

more frightening than that is that a court in the US once tried to legislate Pi = 3. I suppose that might help Dubblyah work out his maths a bit easier.

Isn't Altruism a different form of Hedonism?

Why do we help others? we can't help smiling after we've offered help to anyone in need, and feeling good about ourselves, so aren't we being "good" to satisfy the feeling of being useful, or just helping others?
isn't this a form of hedonism? we can't help feeling good about helping those in need, so aren't we doing this to feel good about ourselves? i don't think anyone would think that they would help another person without wanting to or without feeling good at the end.

    Hey 00Woohah,

I think that is often the case when the Giver "gives out of plenty". I think that when the person giving, "gives out of need", the "sensual pleasure of giving" is absent.

I would agree that we all need to fulfill this need to some degree, but the resultant emotions are nothing but the re-enforcment of our humanity on the basest level.

For instance, a very poor person will likely not feel anything but acceptance of humanity after giving away their last 2 dollars to someone who needs it less than they. (and this is at best, vs bitterness ...because succombing to the luxury of thinking they have helped someone in need, they can not afford).

    ...Just my thoughts on it.

    Yours truly,
    ~M

Happiness is knowing that after a hard day of work; you will go home to a nice couch, and a nice wife, who just popped open a nice cold beer for ya. THAT IS CORRECT!
