damn, im smooth
is there any way to have a swf play at its movie size, without specifying it in the parameters?
like, if 1.fla was 200 x 400 and 2.fla was 500x500, is there any setting so that, when they load up as swfs (in a browser), they appear at their own sizes? (withOUT specifying their measurements in the settings).
as of now, if i leave their sizes unspecified, 1.swf and 2.swf just fill the screen (distorting themselves during the enlarge).
(i ask this because im trying to use flash movies as header graphics for my message boards. some headings will be, say, 300 pixels high, some will only be 200 pixels high, but i dont want to access the settings for all of them. i just want them to appear at the dimensions of their fla)
thanks!

Hi drkknight, (jibe=u jibber jabberer)
You might also want to code your .swf's into a table cell which will encompass your largest possible dimensions.
But hard coding the dimensions when putting it onto a page is the only way I am aware of for conveying the dimension information.
HTH~

heya schmicknick!
i messed around with the table idea. so far, thats the best option, but, its still a little difficult, as the table itself with have to remain a standard size (and, in that case, i might as well just leave all the header graphics the same pixel size). a good try, tho!
really looking (and hoping) for a way to set the settings for swfs to play at their pre-determined fla default size, without literally specifying the swf dimensions in the html parameters
