hello everyone,
can some1 plz tell me how come my loaded text file doesnt change when I upload it to the server? it as if no matter what I do the user's computer is reading it from the cache.

Have you given them a button to refresh the variable? I did this with a screensaver for an office. I put the hard code for the address of the file ie http://www.yoursite.com/chicken.txt
and when they click the button it causes the frame that loads the text to update. You should be able to do the same thing with a loop. The only problem with the loop is you will tax the heck out of the server for information. Regards, Bill

As a matter of interest, I have the same problem with my web-site. It is an on-line database for people looking for new PC's. The database contains all the details of the systems provided by those vendors who are registered with us. This is updated regularly. Problem is if a user has visited the site before the browser seems to load the database file from cache & not the updated version from the server. I've tried all the usual Javascript solutions (meta frame no-cache commands & all) but no-joy. Sounds like we share a problem!! If anyone out there can enlighten - I for one would sure be grateful.
