just watched Christmas carol yesterday. Story got lost half way through but It is visually creepy seeing this style of animation in 3D (actually it was buzzed as 4D by adding wind and bubbles blower)
Will also get discount for Avatar 3D ticket, i hope it's good

4D? you've got to be kidding me. Stupid marketing. I really hope people aren't that dumb and at least know that means time.

sync by time?
"4D" if done correctly it could be quite an experience. I remember I went to see some movie short at Disney and they have wind, smells, room temperatures, bubbles synchronized with whatever was on the screen at that time (I could smell the chocolate cake and different flowers, feel colder out in the snow and warmer near fireplace..etc). Imagine having all this with a horror movie with the smell of rotten meat!!
But for christmas carol it was just a couple of wind and bubbles at the end.

At universal the Terminator ride is half a stage act half movie. It was actually pretty fun. Still doesn't make it 4d...

The Excalibur casino in vegas had two motion theaters they'd update quite often. The "rides" were more less some first person track experience like a runaway train or roller coaster. One was the Colossus roller coaster from Magic Mountain which I've actually rode (ridden?) in person and they were pretty damn identical. The best one was a mine cart ride that felt like something out of donkey kong country.
The best use of this tech by far are the F-1 simulators at the Nascar Cafe in the Sahara casino because you actually had control over the car. The g-forces of punching the gas were spot on.

Agreed. I've never liked Star Trek. But, that movie was great.
The Box
It got bad reviews and was apparently hated by most. I thought it was really good. Philosophically thought provoking.

John Waters released Polyester starring Divine in Odorama in 1981:

Special cards with spots numbered 1 through 10 were distributed to audience members before the show, in the manner of 3D glasses. When a number flashed on the screen, viewers were to scratch and sniff the appropriate spot. Smells included the scent of flowers, pizza, glue, gas, grass, and feces.

quotable.
The Skeptic was worth watching. Good writing, casting, locations and smart. The ending was acceptable although not on par with the movie.

Ok... 2012, avoid. Black Dynamite... I want that on Blu-Ray/DVD the moment it comes out. Planet 51... had moments where I didn't want to kill myself.

Disagree. 2 1/2 hours of mindless entertainment. If you aren't looking for more than that, you'll more than get your $ worth.
