if you really did 100 games, you should at least double that rate

well, I made about 150 in fact
more then 100 were sponsored.
I lost my current sponsor after many years so I comeback where I find it
I actually moved to Unity3d one year ago (and completed one game recently) but I don't have any job.
Any advice would be appreciated! This was my first post and job request (im not spamming, im very selective)

I've lost my fulltime job over half of year ago and have since then been living off odesk. They have simple system and sometimes the projects are very interesting.

10 bucks an hour is not much that's true. But on the other hand, game development process is slow and takes a lot of time. When you add up all those working hours and multiply them by 10 you get the figure which is pretty much high compared to what sponsors are ready to pay. By the way, you did Vampire Blaster by yourself? that's really cool game, you're very talented..
Now, I am talking from the sponsor's perspective. For instance, arcane circus team did a game for me recently , it's called Hodag Snag, and it cost me, well, let's just say under 100 bucks.
To make such game I guess, with all the coding, graphics and testing, that all would take up at least a week, right? 5 days * 8 hours = 40 hours *10 bucks = 400 bucks. See my point? 400 is way to much for sponsors and developers cannot accept much less than that. ..
what about scary maze? those are simple and still very popular.. could you do one of those ? I would probably want something distinctive, because there are like dozens of identical versions ... how long would it take to make something like that?

Hi coolnick
Yes. I did that game entirely. And many many other. I like to work alone even if from time to time I get some graphics from other freelancers or stores.
$100 it's acceptable for a simple game as that if it's non exclusive or it's a derivation work (with small changes) form another game
I could do scare maze of course.
Please email me to get in touch and we can discuss more. I work very fast and I provide free demos

Actually, I just closed a google account for a publisher who ripped an entire game of mine and port it to Android Google play (1-2 months ago).

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that Decompiling to steal others work is just wrong on so many levels. Sure I'd decompile to learn how to achieve a certain effect, but if you hire someone and then steal their work to later publish it as your own for free, that's wrong. Unfortunately this is quite common on sites like Freelancer.com :/
I am back, guys ... and finally 18 :P
BRING BACK THE OLD DESIGN!! OR AT LEAST FIX THE AS TAGS

yeah stealing code is a bad idea, just do the tutorial and learn it or go for open source code and learn it!

Hi,
Good artists copy; great artists steal
If you steal from one author, it’s plagiarism; if you steal from many, it’s research.

However to blatantly copy and make money is a different story.

hmmm
hmmm
I would never compromise my business because of a quick buck. On the other hand, who knows what I have sponsored so far ... sometimes published/sponsor is not aware of what he's paying for.
