The new ringtone thing is ridiculous. You have to pay $.99 to cut a 30 second clip out of a song that you've already purchased if you want it as a ringtone. Why not make it free for any song that you've already purchased?

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

RIAA business basics at work. I wonder how much of it goes to the music industry and what's left for Apple.

I'm guessing that most of it's left for Apple. It's retarded really. I'm sure they could have done it free had they wanted to. The files are already on the device, why not make an editor on the phone where they can select the start point and the end point of any track on the phone and that is what it plays when the phone rings.

iPod Touch! Anyone interested in my iPod nano 8GB ... erhmmm ... with my name on it?
Edit: Looks like the new iPod touch is almost exactly the iPhone minus the phone and slimmer.

They still can't get the disk size right on the iPod touch. I was starting to actually tempt me until they announced that the biggest one would be 16GB for $400!!! That is ridiculous. I still have my 30 GB one full so I'm definitely not going down in size.

If you really want all your music on an iPod, get the 160GB classic.

30GB is really plenty for me. I have a lot more music than that but not that I listen too. I think it's a bad size when you start putting videos on there. I have mine loaded up with TV shows and movies. I don't plan what I want to wtch ahead of time. It's just convenient when i'm waiting in an airport to look through my library and decide what to watch. You can't really do that with the Touch and the screen on the classic still sucks.

Sorry to bring down your iHardon, Subby, but how many pissed off peeps will be out there to complain about the $200 extra they had to pay for a 'hot off the presses' iPhone? Sounds to me that they are begging to push sales of those things with a 33% price dump. Did they not meet sales expectations?

You should read some of the Engadget, Macrumors etc. comments, they basicaly want a 160GB iPod touch with Mail and of course not pay more. Thing is, there will always be people not happy with new products, but personally, I got exactly what I asked for, an iPhone without the phone parts/costs. Sure I would have loved to get the same with a 250GB solid state drive so I can put my whole iTunes library on it, but guess that product is still many years away.

I don't care about the iPhone with no phone or the iDildo without vibe mode...I am talking about the price dump on a pre-existing product.

So it would have been better if they did'nt lower the price? Early adopters always pay more or get more bugs, it's a basic rule of the gadget market. Sure this one may be a bit on the "heavy" side, but they will have their reasons, I'm sure.

Looks to me that the ipod touch is a joke. Am I wrong? I looks like an iphone, has the same storage capacity as an iphone, and costs the same as an iphone. Except it doesn't have a phone (i guess this only means longer battery life) and that's it. Why would you buy this if you could buy the iphone for the same price???
I'm guessing they didn't make it with a larger capacity because that would definitely hurt the iphone sales.
I was really expecting for an ipod touch of at least 30GB, but 8gb is a joke.

But this is something all apple users already know. Back when they recently introduced the ipod mini, shuffle, nano, ipod photo and then ipod video. All those products came one after the other really fast, and everybody was sad because you bought an ipod one day and the next day they announced better cheaper ipods.
Besides, most smart apple buyers know that they have to wait for at least the second generation iPhone.
