Then, they (FI) changed thier minds and now propod is going to be a hub for professional developers, a kind of community like this one but for the elite.
I wonder how they're gonna moderate it - are they gonna allow mere mortals like us to simply view the content and have invited members only, to contribute to the community? Sort of a fishbowl where the "professional" developers reside and the plebs peer wantingly through the glass :pQuote:

Propod is 2 things.
1 - a platform
2 - a hub for professional designers/developers
What is launching in November is the platform. It is the biggest achievement and revolution for the flash community since it began. Big words, but we are confident in what we have created and believe it will take us into the next generation internet.
Propod will be deployed in sections over the next 2 years.
We will be releasing several press release shortly, but for now this is all the information regarding Propod I can supply. I can answer some questions but details will be minimum.

From what it says on the propod homepage it looks like it's probably gonna launch on the 18th
im looking forward to the launch but im not going to soil my pants just yet.
there is a lot of hype on the net so for now im taking it with a pinch of salt.
if i get hyped up about this thing im most likely gonna get excited... so expect nothing like me, and it should be a nice suprise :)

I'm rather curious too, how they seem to be marketing propod now is quite different from what it originally was. We were initiall led to believe that it was a collaboration between them and 2A, but now that's no longer the case, although 2A are aparrently having *something* to do with it.Quote:

It's being marketed as a *hub* for developers. I'm guessing it's going to be a resource site aimed at industry pro's to liase with one another.
I think it will be across between a news site, with downloadable scripts, tutorials, news, a forum (but only for paying users).
I reckon the site will operate a restricted viewing policy for non-subscribers - people will have to pay to access most of the content.
I think FI will use it to promote themselves and their new technologies such as viewpod and FI cinema etc....
I also think they will accolade sites of exceptional quality - sort of like how FWA do at the moment.
Just my guesstimates :)
