IMO, This thread is an example of the CL functioning as intended. However I don't like what's being eluded to here from either side. It sounds almost like some people would be happier with a 3rd party review board interceding on matters of rule violation. I'm confident this would be a very bad move. I can almost guarantee justice would not be served and worse yet, injustices would be. FK's use of first party moderation is the single biggest factor I'm still here. Careful what you ask for.
While FL may get annoying sometimes, that's my problem not his. I don't think asserting one's self no matter how adamantly, is in violation or deserves a spotlight. Some of the CL may be annoying but that's a possibility you accept as members. Profusely antagonizing a mute point doesn't make you a favorite. That's a risk we accept as well.
The CL is functioning as intended.
The only glaring issues with FK are external to the boards and lay squarely in the hands of those who pay the bills, none of whom are participating in this thread. If they want to mistreat their mods and flush potential ad dollars down the drain, let em. I support any mod who steps down to stand up for whats right and I support any member ruffling as many feathers as they want so long as its not socially unacceptable.

yes, it was a simple decision based on something that was changing via decisions by the site owners in a way my personal principles could not accept. I could not support such changes, and I felt my only option was to quit the mod team.

Nah. I haven't used that type of button on any site before. I prefer to simply point out what those types of comments are and let the person decide for themselves how they want to represent themselves. They are only words.

I understand and respect your feeling about David leaving the team. I hope you can understand that my response is also a long-term view from a members perspective. From my view, he can still participate and share his thoughts if he cares to, the same as before. He just won't be representing the company.

How should I know that was the last word compared to any other part of a discussion?
I can see your point about people calling you out for mistakes and I agree. That's why I enjoy debating issues with mature, intelligent people that disagree with me. If they can make a strong case against my position, they've done me a favor. No pride lost.
However, you haven't really explained how I have been a prat, dense or stupid. You've just thrown those names out there. If you could explain what I have done to deserve that, maybe I could understand. Otherwise, it just looks like flaming to me.
